About Protein
Protein powder is the easiest way to reach your daily protein target when food alone falls short. Whey concentrate is the everyday choice, whey isolate is filtered further for more protein and less lactose and fat per scoop, and hydrolysed whey is pre-digested for faster absorption. Most active adults aim for roughly 1.6–2.2 g of protein per kg of body weight per day, spread across meals.
How to choose
Look at protein per scoop (20–30 g is typical), the protein-to-scoop-weight ratio, added sugar, and whether the pack shows a batch number and importer or FSSAI details. Choose isolate if dairy upsets your stomach, concentrate for value, and a blend if you want both.
How to use
Mix one scoop in 200–300 ml of water or milk. Many people take one serving after training and another between meals; check the label for the exact serving size and adjust to your total daily protein, not a fixed number of shakes.
Common questions
- Whey concentrate or isolate — which should I buy?
- Concentrate gives good protein at a lower price. Isolate costs more but has more protein per scoop and very little lactose, so it suits people who feel bloated with regular whey or are cutting fat.
- Can women and beginners take protein powder?
- Yes. Protein powder is simply food protein in powder form. It helps anyone who struggles to eat enough protein, whatever their training level.
- Is protein powder bad for the kidneys?
- Research in healthy adults has not shown harm from normal protein intakes. If you have a kidney condition, ask your doctor before increasing protein.
